Shelley

Registered Dental Hygienist

Shelly has been with Custom Dental in Harrisonville since November 2011, just two months after Dr. Wassink opened his practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1984 and has appreciated having a career that balances work and family so well.

When she’s not cleaning teeth, Shelly and her husband enjoy camping in their fifth wheel. Her four adult children all live in the Kansas City area and she visits them regularly.

Victoria

Dental Hygienist

Victoria graduated from Concorde Career College in 2016 and is excited to be a part of the Custom Dental team! As a dental hygienist, she offers education to patients on oral health and hygiene, cleans teeth, and provides treatment to prevent gum disease. Best of all, she enjoys using her knowledge to help others lead a healthier, happier life.

Victoria is married to her best friend, Leo. She also has an American Eskimo dog who is loyal, cute, and likes to shed everywhere. In her leisure time, Victoria enjoys traveling with Leo and taking different dance classes at a studio in downtown Kansas City.

Tammy

Office Manager

“I absolutely love helping our patients figure out details and finances and then putting their plans into action. The friendships and relationships I have developed with so many of them will last a lifetime.”

Tammy started with Dr Wassink in 2014 and brought with her many years of front office, insurance, and billing experience. Although office manager is her title, helping patients navigate through their treatment is the most important and rewarding part of her job.

Tammy and her husband Tim have been married almost 40 years. They have three kids with wonderful spouses and the sweetest grandkids. They are an outdoors family and have all invested in mountain bikes, so much of their free time is spent on the trails in Overland Park.

Laura

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

“The best part of working in dentistry is changing people's smiles and building relationships with patients that last a lifetime.”

Laura graduated from Concorde Career College in 2009 and joined our team shortly after. Holding her expanded functions certification, she is qualified to assist during all procedures to ensure our patients achieve the best results.

Laura and her husband Erik, along with dogs Dally Jo and Gunner, raise cattle on their farm, in addition to owning a feed store and diesel shop. When she has free time, Laura enjoys being with her nieces and nephews, hunting and fishing, and traveling. She’s also a track official for tractor pulling and gets to drive every now and then as well.

Alisa

Hygiene Assistant

“My favorite part about what I do is turning frowns upside down.”

Alisa is the lead hygiene assistant. She started her career with us with no dental experience and is now a rock-star assistant!

Most of Alisa’s free time is spent with her cat Ophelia. She also loves yoga and any other form of exercise.
